THQ Global Brand Manager Mark Madsen revealed that Metro: Last Light, the company's upcoming FPS, was no longer a confirmed Wii U project. While he stated that it wasn't an entirely scrapped idea, he made it clear that Last Light was not currently in development for the system.
"If it does happen, it won't sim-ship with the other SKUs, but if the opportunity arises we'll take a look at it," said Madsen.
Regarding Nintendo's E3 press conference last year, where Last Light was showcased as a future Wii U title, the brand manager explained that it wasn't a rash decision to show off the game as a potential game for Nintendo's upcoming platform. "No I don't think it was a bit too early [to show the game at E3]," explained Madsen "As we got along in the development process, we just really wanted to focus on what we knew, focus on PS3, 360 and PC."
At this point it's hard to say whether or not Last Light will ever release on the Wii U. It's certainly possible, but it's equally possible (if not more) that it won't. Kind of a shame if you were looking forward to the Wii U version of the game. Granted that news really only affects about five people, but still.
