Metroid: Samus Returns Special Editions detailed; US version stinks; EU version superior

Metroid: Samus Returns takes Metroid II: Return of Samus and reimagines the title while keeping the 2D side-scrolling, instead of making it a straight port of the original game. Nintendo has officially revealed the Special Editions for the 3DS game and one thing is really clear, the US version stinks.

The Special Edition for Samus Returns in the US will include the game and a CD featuring selections from the game's soundtrack.

The European Special Edition is much, much better than the US version and comes with quite a bit more. European Metroid fans will be getting a digital version of Samus Returns, a retro-styled SteelBook that looks like a Game Boy game, a soundtrack of 25 tracks selected from the entire Metroid series, a gold 'S' pin, a Morph Ball keyring, and a 40-page artbook.

Metroid: Samus Returns launches September 15, 2017.
