Michael B. Jordan has the eye of the tiger in our first look at Creed

Actor and legendary boxer Sylvester Stallone has taken to Instagram to give us our first glimpse of Creed, the latest installment in the iconic boxing movie franchise Rocky.

The spin-off film explores a new chapter in the Rocky story, one that involves Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan), son of world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. Despite having never known his famous father, who died at the hands of the Russian in Rocky IV (before Adonis was born), there's boxing in his blood. Adonis heads to Philadelphia where he seeks the help of Rocky (Stallone) to train him. In an interesting twist, Warner Bros. Pictures teases that Rocky is "battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring."

I'm guessing cancer. I'm assuming this is going to be some sort of passing of the torch, with Jordan assuming the lead role in any upcoming Rocky films. Or will they be called Creed now?

Anyway, the new photo shows the two boxers training in the ring along with the caption: "Get ready to go for it!"

And just becauseā€¦

Rest in peace, Apollo.
