Michael Biehn confirms that Alien 5 will pretend Alien3 and Resurrection never happened

While many of us still mourn the insanely wonderful Wooden Planet concept for Alien 3 that Vincent Ward came up with and never completed, just as many pretend that Fincher and Jeunet’s entries to the franchise just never happened at all.

That communal amnesia looks like it might carry over into Alien 5, which has tapped Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Chappie) to direct. Michael Biehn appeared at Sheffield Film and Comic Con and spoke about how Blomkamp had approached him and confirmed that the fifth installment of the science fiction horror giant would ignore the two loathed movies, Alien 3 and Resurrection.

Though Biehn hasn’t been formally offered a role or seen a script, there’s reasonable speculation that he may be reprising his role as Corporal Hicks given the concept art revealed back in July featured an older and disfigured Hicks.
