Microsoft acknowledges problems signing into Xbox LIVE

Finally confirming numerous reports, Microsoft has acknowledged problems with Xbox LIVE on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. The official Xbox LIVE support page notes "limited" services, with Microsoft specifically mentioning problems signing into Xbox LIVE.

"Having a tough time signing in? Don’t worry! We’re working to fix this right away!" Microsoft support says.

Though there's no mention of a DDoS, notorious hacker group Lizard Squad has been claiming responsibility for the attacks that have taken down both Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.

Sony previously acknowledged the outages via Twitter.

Lizard Squad previously promised they would take down PSN and Xbox LIVE on Christmas, but a recent hacking war between them and Finest Squad, which supposedly led to the arrest of several Lizard Squad members, led many in the gaming industry to believe that the worst was past. Guess not.
