Microsoft celebrates huge Games with Gold milestone with double the free games in April

Xbox LIVE Gold members are in for a big treat in April. Microsoft promised today the release of twice the amount of free games in April as part of Games with Gold, the monthly program which publishes free games each month for Xbox LIVE Gold members.

"Since the program’s launch at E3 2013, you’ve collectively downloaded over 100,000,000 Games with Gold games! It’s definitely clear to us that Xbox Live Gold members love to game, and Games with Gold fuels that passion," Microsoft said.

To commemorate the milestone, Microsoft will celebrate by "giving you more of what you love." That's right, in April 2015, you'll be getting double the amount of free games: FOUR free games on Xbox 360, and TWO free games on Xbox One. Not a bad deal considering you're likely paying for Xbox LIVE Gold anyway (you know, since it's required to play games online).

The games haven't yet been announced yet, but if they are anything like what we're getting in March, then it's time to get excited. Next month's Xbox Deals with Gold were announced today; check out the lineup of free games here.
