We got our first look at the Microsoft exclusive Sea of Thieves during Microsoft's conference at E3 last year. Since then, all we have really seen for the game is a look at the co-op gameplay and not much else – until recently.
It appears as though Xbox Australia jumped the gun and posted a release window for Sea of These on Twitter. This could be the confirmed release date, however, Microsoft is denying that the game has any type of confirmed release window.
Xbox Games global marketing chief Aaron Greenburg has made it clear that no release date has been revealed for Sea of Thieves.
@DMC_Ryan @XboxAustralia @SeaOfThieves Love seeing excitement for Sea of Thieves, but we have not announced a launch date yet!

Greenburg went on to say that Xbox Australia's post was a "surprise" and that the next step for Sea of Thieves would be a closed beta. The marketing chief also stated that it was "too early to call a date."
It appears as though Greenburg doesn't want to commit to the February 2017 release window, but there's always a chance that we see it.
