Microsoft details gamescom 2015 Xbox plans

Microsoft announced today its plans for gamescom 2015, and as expected there will be plenty of news for Xbox fans to rejoice over.

For starters, some of the Xbox One games that couldn't make it to E3 will be present at Microsoft's gamescom press briefing, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th at 10:00am ET (7:00am PT). Some of the confirmed games include Scalebound, Quantum Break, and Crackdown.

While both Scalebound and Crackdown were revealed during Microsoft's 2014 E3 press conference, Microsoft chose not to bring them to this year's E3. "Having a jam-packed lineup of games to show at E3 means that there simply isn’t enough time to give each of our upcoming titles its well-deserved time in the spotlight,” head of Xbox Phil Spencer said at the time. In addition to these three games being "front and center" at gamescom, Microsoft promises plenty of other "new game reveals for both Xbox One and Windows 10."

In the beginning of April, Quantum Break was delayed from a 2015 release to a 2016 for a similar reason. According to Microsoft's head of publishing, Shannon Loftis, “With so many games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP.” It's been a while since we've heard more on Crackdown and Scalebound, so it'll be refreshing for an update on these two eagerly awaited Xbox games.
