Microsoft ending support for IS 8, 9, 10; here’s when

In March of last year, Microsoft revealed their intention of killing off the Internet Explorer browser and replacing it with Windows 10's Edge browser. While IE never left PCs with Windows 10 (it was removed as the default browser and replaced with Edge), Microsoft is taking yet another step towards nixing Internet Explorer.

Beginning January 12, 2016, only the most current version of Internet Explorer will be supported by Microsoft through technical and security updates. According to Microsoft, Internet Explorer 11 will be the last version of Internet Explorer and it will "continue to receive security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10."

With the end of Internet Explorer on the horizon, Microsoft is urging users to upgrade Internet Explorer. If you don't, you risk opening up your PC to malware that can steal your date. More than likely, Internet Explorer has already been updated on your PC, but if Automatic Updates isn't turned on click the Check for Updates button on the Windows Update portion of the Control Panel to get updated.
