Microsoft hoping to bring Gears of War franchise to Xbox One

When it comes to exclusives there are two main franchises Microsoft has going for itself: Halo and Gears of War. The former has already been confirmed as an eventual Xbox One title, while the latter remains a mystery. As one of the the Xbox 360's biggest franchises, Microsoft naturally wishes to bring it to the Xbox One. The decision, however, is up to developer Epic Games.

"Gears of War is developed by Epic Games and they've been our partners for a long time on Xbox 360," Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer said in an interview on Famitsu (via DualShockers). "You should ask Epic Games about what they want to do.

"We haven't announced anything yet about Gears of War, but we hope to bring it to Xbox One in some form. However there's nothing more I can tell you at this time," he concluded.

Wouldn't it just be the ultimate kicker if Epic announced the next Gears for PS4? Hey, if Square can bring Kingdom Hearts 3 to the Xbox One, whose to say the same can't happen with Gears of War?
