Microsoft hosting gaming event in Japan … Wait, what?

The Xbox 360 is easily the most popular console this generation, and it has earned the number one spot in many individuals' gaming rooms … except in Japan. Yeah, Microsoft's beloved little gaming machine isn't so hot over there.

Despite the fact that Japan isn't known for really supporting the Xbox 360, it looks like Microsoft is going to host its annual Akihabara gaming event this summer. That's right, in case you didn't know, the company has done this before. This year, the event's title is Xbox 360 Appreciation Festival in Akiba: Get Into It Action Game Life! This Summer Go To New Gaming Frontiers. Rolls right off the tongue, doesn't it?

Microsoft will be showcasing Crimson Dragon, Lollipop Chainsaw, Steel Battalion, Robotics: Notes, Anarchy Reigns, and Ghost Recon Future Soldier. What, no Black Ops II? Ha! Just kidding!

The festival with the name I'm too lazy to type all over again (seriously, that thing is long) will take place on June 17 between 12 PM and 7 PM, and I predict that people will just show up in small groups for short periods of time to see what's up, or because they've literally got nothing going on that day. At least admission is free!
