Microsoft will be launching their highly anticipated Windows 10 operating system tonight, featuring their new and exclusive 'Edge' web browser.
The technology giants have completely skipped a potential Windows 9 and have been pushing the promotion of the incoming package for some time.
Windows 10 will offer a seemingly quicker and more reliable web browser in the form of Microsoft Edge as they look to compete with the sheer speed of Google Chrome, consequently scrapping Internet Explorer. A feature of the Edge browser will be the addition of Cortana – a voice activated assistant – which should come as a helpful partner for people of all ages.
Many users were left extremely frustrated when Microsoft removed the Start button from the Windows 8 package, that will make its long-awaited return to the desktop.
Possibly the most exciting aspect of Windows 10's release is the fact that customers that have purchased Windows 7 or 8 in the past, can upgrade free of charge. However, those not eligible for the update can purchase the brand new package for $99.
Windows has previously been portrayed as an "essential" product to have although many other separate alternatives have come to light in recent years, such as Google docs. Chief executive, Satya Nadella, has made it clear that the brand has to be wanted and no longer just required by users, moving from "people needing Windows, to choosing Windows, to loving Windows".
For those that are eligible to upgrade, feel free to tweet us your thoughts on the new product @GameZoneOnline, or leave your comments in the section below.
