Microsoft: No Xbox One price cut planned outside of UK

The Xbox One price cut, announced today by Microsoft, only applies to the UK and will remain so for at least the time being. Addressing the possibility that we could see a similar reduction in price here in the United States, Xbox UK Marketing Director Harvey Eagle reiterated "it's a UK-only adjustment."

"My responsibility is only for the UK so I can only talk about our territory," Eagle said (via OXM). "This is about offering the best value to UK gamers, and as a result we're announcing this new price point of £399. There's no announcements in other countries planned, so it's a UK-only adjustment and we feel this is the right thing to do in our market."

In the meantime, those of us stateside at least see a promotion that sort of acts as a temporary price cut. Microsoft also announced today a new Titanfall Xbox One Bundle. For $499.99, you get the standard Xbox One, Kinect and controller, along with a free download code for a digital copy of Titanfall. It's not quite as attractive the UK's a price cut and a free game, but I'm okay with saving $60.

The new price for the Xbox One in the UK will be reflected on February 28. The Titanfall Xbox One bundle is available now for pre-order but won't arrive until March 11, the same day as Titanfall's release.
