Microsoft now owns Xbox One domain names

Microsoft officially owns the domain names related to Xbox One, making it the first company to own the matching domain names of its next-gen video game console.

According to Fusible, Microsoft's lawyers acquired XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net after filing a complain with the National Arbitration Forum back in late May. The website notes that the domain ownership name changed to Microsoft, c/o The Richard Law Group, a law firm that represents Microsoft in domain disputes. Both domains were previously registered to a resident of the United Kingdom.

Interesting enough, Nintendo was recently denied in its case to acquire WiiU.com. What exactly did Microsoft do differently? Sony apparently just doesn't care enough to own PlayStation.com which is currently owned by Poise Media Inc., according to WHOIS records.
