Microsoft Points to stay on Xbox 360

Windows 8 — the new operating system that comes out October 26 — will use real currency instead of Microsoft Points, as previously reported. But the Xbox 360 is a different matter.

The company confirmed that the points system will "continue to be the currency for purchasing content for the Xbox 360 console." It also said that customers on Xbox Live can make purchases on Windows 8 using their stored Microsoft Points.

So for now, at least, we're stuck with the existing conversion rate: 80 MP for every $1.
