The beginning of December saw 16 new games added to the list of backward compatible Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One. Unfortunately, none of those games were top-requested games like Black Ops 2, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, or Red Dead Redemption.
Multi-disc games games like Red Dead Redemption, have yet to see a release through the backward compatibility feature due to their size, but it appears as though Microsoft is closing in on a fix for that.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was made available on the Xbox One through backward compatibility earlier this month. While the game was met with critical acclaim when it released in 2011, it wasn't without problems.
To address the issues in Human Revolution, the developers released a Director's Cut. This version of the game changes quite a bit its predecessor's boss fights (the biggest complaint about Human Revolution), but it is also a multi-disc game.
According to the official Deus Ex Twitter (via GameInformer) account, Microsoft is working on making the Director's Cut available 'early next year.'
For those asking: Missing Link and DXHR Director's Cut are currently not supported, but the Xbox team expect them to be early next year.
That means that Microsoft has found a way to make multi-disc games available through backward compatibility… Red Dead Redemption could happen! So could Mass Effect 2!
