Microsoft Rumored to Announce Next-Gen Xbox at CES 2012

Today's Xbox 720/Next-Gen Xbox rumor circles around a new potential reveal date.  French gaming site Xboxygen claims we will hear some new details about the next Xbox at the Consumer Electronics Show taking place January 2012.  The site did not disclose the name of the source, but did share that he is "near the middle of Microsoft".  So take that for what it's worth.

Xboxygen claims the source told them "the project first began in 2005 and is divided into two parts: Part Infinity for all that hardware and part Loop for the software."

This goes along with prior rumors which revealed the project's supposed internal codename, Loop.  According to the source, the low-key announcement of the new console will be made at CES 2012.  The announcement won't be anything big, simply focusing on the capabilities and system specs of the new console.  The source claims it will have a hex-core CPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and a AMD GPU.

CES 2012 takes place January 10th through the 13th in Las Vegas, Nevada, so the wait shouldn't be too much longer – if these rumors are indeed true.
