They say that virtual reality is the future and a bunch of developers are looking to agree. Steam is working on the Vive VR headset with HTC, Sony is working on Morpheus, and Microsoft is working on the HoloLens (there are a bunch of other headsets too).
The HoloLens made its reveal during Microsoft's Windows 10 event in January. The headset looks to seperate itself from other headsets currently in development by offering a mix of VR and augmented reality (AR). When Microsoft showed off the HoloLense they teased a lot of creator friendly features (the HoloStudio) and a little bit of gaming through the headset.
Microsoft is pretty proud of the headset they are developing and the fact that it will link in to gaming, so it's safe to question whether or not this years E3 conference will be all about VR and AR. In short, it won't be.
A concerned Microsoft fans expressed fears of a VR and AR focused E3 conference, his fears were quickly assuaged by Xbox Head Phil Spencer:
Microsoft's E3 2015 press conference will not be "all about" the HoloLens, but it will definitely play a role in the event. Spencer's use of 'all about' shows that there will definitely be some VR/AR talk.
What gaming announcements do you want them to make at E3?
