A Microsoft Store listing has likely leaked the release date of Metal Wolf Chaos XD. According to that, the remaster of the original Xbox hidden gem is set to come out soon, on August 6th. Check out the original trailer for the remaster here.
Devolver Digital took the gaming world by surprise last year, not only with their outrageous and crazy E3 presser, but by announcing that they would publish the remaster of Metalf Wolf Chaos. The insane action game originally launched on the origianl Xbox a lifetime ago in 2004. Developed by FromSoftware, the game featured a hilarious setting by putting players in the shoes of the President of the United States amidst a coup. The kicker here is that the POTUS is using a bad-ass mech to regain his seat. Yes, the game has a unique Japanese touch to it.
The country is in peril as President Michael Wilson defends the nation against a full-scale rebellion lead by Vice-President Richard Hawk and the mechanized legions he commands. As the 47th President of the United States, it is your sworn duty to take your country back by any means necessary and end this unjust coup d’etat! Battle in your advanced mech – armed to the teeth – across iconic American landscapes including the Brooklyn Bridge, the Grand Canyon, and the front steps of the White House.
Things got quiet ever since the reveal however but today we have possibly learned the release date of Metal Wolf Chaos XD. The game’s webpage on the Microsoft Store is now listing this August 6th as the release date. Someone over at the store has possibly jumped the gun by updating the page with the release date as Devolver Digital was planning to unveil the date themselves sometime this week.
Nonetheless, good news for fans of over-the-top action with a pinch of crazy. Metal Wolf Chaos sadly never became a hit on the Xbox, so it’s nice to see the game get a second chance and on more platforms, too. In the age of Social Media and memes, chances are looking good that MWCXD manages to attract a larger audience.
Metal Wolf Chaos XD will be available on August 6th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
