Microsoft teases mysterious Xbox game, quickly denies it

New Call of Duty to be unveiled on May 4th?

Is Microsoft teasing a new game for the Xbox One? It sure seems that way, but the company won't admit to it.

Yesterday, Xbox community manager Raj Patel tweeted an image featuring what looks to be either the roman numeral for two, or a pause button of some kind. I'm not really sure what it is, and Patel only teased: "Hmm…"

Of course, it didn't take NeoGAF long to see the image and begin analyzing it. They actually discovered some morse code in the background which apparently translates into the following:

“Presented by Xbox, 10am PDT, 1pm EST, May 4th 2015"

The speculation is already beginning. Some believe it's a sequel of some sort. Others believe, given that May 4th is "Star Wars Day," that it could be related to Star Wars.

I've got my money set on a new Call of Duty reveal. A recent rumor suggested that the new Call of Duty will be set in World War II, and though it hasn't been acknowledged by Activision, May is typically when the company reveals a new installment in its annual first-person shooter franchise.

If it is a new Call of Duty, it would make sense that Microsoft is teasing it. Microsoft and Activision usually have a partnership in which Call of Duty DLC is typically released as a timed-exclusive for Xbox platforms.

For his part, Patel denied the tweet is any sort of tease.

Sure, buddy.
