Nine months ago, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, told fans that screenshot sharing functionality for Xbox One was on the way. At the time, it was simply "[on] the list" of features for monthly updates, and that the team was "making great progress."
Fast forward to last weekend, and we got a glimpse of just how much progress was made over the span of nine months. Spencer took to Twitter on Friday night to tease screenshot functionality on the Xbox One.
Nice to finally be doing this on my Xbox One dev kit. pic.twitter.com/AgDDWr3ExJ

We don't know how far off the feature is, but his tweet did say he was able to do it on the Xbox One dev kit. Last week, Microsoft rolled out the February update for Xbox One, adding game hubs, custom backgrounds and tile transparency, and lots of TV updates. If screenshot functionality is nearly complete, it's possible we could see it arrive in one of the upcoming updates.
