Just a few days after promising to "take care" of their customers, Microsoft has issued another statement regarding Xbox One consoles suffering from defective hardware.
"The issue is affecting a very small number of Xbox One customers," a Microsoft rep told IGN. "We’re working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange program.
"Rest assured, we are taking care of our customers," the representative reiterated.
Since the Xbox One's launch on Friday, a number of users have reported issues with their console. Videos of disturbing grinding noises coming from the disc drive when inserting a game have been garnering the most attention, though it was never clear how widespread the problem was.
Sony experienced a similar issue with the PlayStation 4 launch on November 15. YouTube videos of defective hardware were also rampant on the internet, making it seem like the problems were widespread when in reality less than 1% of all consoles shipped were experiencing issues.
