Today the NPD group has announced in a new report that the Xbox 360 is leading the digital race with the most downloaded games. While some may link this to the PSN outage, most of the report’s numbers come from 2010. In 2010 XBLA had twice as many downloaded games as PSN and trotted all over Nintendo with seven times the downloads. The report also had Microsoft outselling Sony four to one in retailer-distributed digital points cards, with Nintendo far behind both.
The good news between all consoles is that downloadable games sales between 360, Wii, and PS3 rose significantly between 2006 to 2008, and staged in 2010.
