Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor not releasing PC review codes until after game release

One does not simply review Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor prior to release.

Despite sitting in the top ten best sellers on Steam, the publisher (WB Games) of Shadow of Mordor won't be sending out any PC review codes for the game until after it releases, according to Rock, Paper, Shotgun. It seems as though console review copies are still on the table, judging by Arthur Gies' Tweet.

Delayed reviews seems to be a new trend among publishers. Bungie didn't send out review copies of Destiny until a day before the games major release. This choice was met with trepidation from the video game community, why would a developer not want game sites to review their game? Is it because the game is awful or because they are so confident in the game?

There's no bottom-line answer for this question, simply the fact of the matter.

The release date is set for September 30th, so, don't expect to see any PC reviews before then.

What do you think of the lack of review copies? Let me know!
