According to retailers, Mighty No. 9 has been delayed yet again, This time it has been pushed back until 2016 if gameinformer's information is accurate, and we have no reason to believe it's not considering they are owned by GameStop. The delay seems pretty strange considering how far along Mighty No. 9 looked at E3.
This news comes at a terrible time for Comcept, who seems to be reeling after their poorly planned Red Ash Kickstarter has turned into a massive disaster. Fans were already slinging accusations that the Kickstarter was a scam after the Fuze announcement and following repurposing of funds, but the delay of Mighty No. 9 has only served to throw gasoline on an already volatile situation.
A popular theory to explain the timing of the Red Ash kickstarter was that Mighty No. 9 had eaten through its massive budget and was in dire need of funding. Now, after the Red Ash Kickstarter has hit a new low with backers backing out, Mighty No. 9 has been delayed for several months. The situation looks bad, and Comcept has opted for deafening silence so far.
One thing is for certain though, Keiji Inafune's reputation has never been worse than it is right now.
