Following last night's early opening of Nintendo Account registrations, a new Miitomo launch site has been prepared to tease the app's capabilities.
While not going into great detail, new details have emerged concerning Miitomo's structure and lingo. For example, accessorizing your Miis with costumes and gear will require using a currency called "Miitomo coins," which you can earn through play or in-app purchases.
Images that you create in the app, whether using available materials or borrowing from existing photos on your device, are referred to as "Miifotos." Similar to how Mario Kart 8, NES Remix and other Wii U games provide stamps for Miiverse drawings, Miitomo will also have its own supply of stamps (as well as fonts) for the creation of custom images.
It's also been revealed that Miis will have voices in the app, but whether this is more in line with the gibberish stylings of Tomodachi Life remain to be seen.
The social application — the first step in Nintendo's developing mobile strategy — launches next month, but make sure to register for a Nintendo Account before then: you'll receive some Platinum Points on the new My Nintendo loyalty program (Club Nintendo's replacement) for doing so. The catch is you need to use them within six months of the program's start.
