Alright, now if you’re finished oogling boobs in 3D, how about we get back to some actual video game news? Mike Patton, the off-the-wall vocalist who has sung for Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and others, will once again lend his versatile vocal chords to The Darkness in the upcoming sequel to the 2007 game. This is pretty good news, as it shows 2K is trying to do this sequel right, despite the lack of Starbreeze as the developer (they made the original game as well as Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay).
“The story behind The Darkness II wouldn’t be complete or authentic without the character of The Darkness,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Mike Patton brings a completely unique perspective to the role which is essential in creating the world of The Darkness.”
It seems Patton is enthusiastic about the role as well, as he shows in a quote from 2K: “It feels really good to be the bad guy, and The Darkness is as bad as it gets,” said Mike Patton. “I’ve read through the script and Jackie is going to be a brutally tortured soul. I’m looking forward to making his life a living hell.”
Along with the news, 2K also announced that they’ll be at GDC showing off the game from March 2-4, so expect more news on the game soon.
