MineCon 2015 ticket rules brilliantly prevent scalpers

Over a month ago, Mojang let us in on the date and the location of MineCon 2015 (London, July 4-5). Today, we've got all the ticket information — from the price to attend to general rules of ticket buying and scalping.

First off, yes, you will be getting a cape (as per usual). Secondly, you will not be able to sell the tickets after you purchase them, nor can they be transferred; the the person whose name is on the ticket will be admitted into the event. If you buy a ticket, it is your ticket. If you can not attend for any reason Mojang will offer refunds.

With MineCon undoubtedly going to sell out, it's nice to see Mojang think about the real fans and not simply selling tickets. These rules keep things fair and keep out the dirty scalpers.

Now that we got that tidbit out of the way, tickets will be £129 each and can be purchased six at a time. In order to purchase in bulk, you will need to have the name of each person that you are buying a ticket for in order to complete your purchase. Tickets will only be sold at minecon.mojang.com and through Eventbrite.

Tickets will become available on the following schedule:

  • 5,000 tickets will go on sale at 6pm GMT (London time) on Friday, March 27, 2015
  • 5,000 additional tickets will go on sale at 12pm noon GMT on Saturday, March 28, 2015

If you are 14 or under a parent/guardian must attend the event with you!
