Minecraft 1.6 ‘Horse Update’ pre-released

Mojang has released an early version of the Minecraft 1.6 update, dubbed the "Horse Update." Obviously the big attraction here is the addition of horses, donkeys, and mules, but there's a bunch of other features that are being added as well; many of which can be seen below in the change-log.

  • Added Horses
  • Added Donkeys, Mules
  • Added Horse Armor
  • Added Leads
  • Added Carpets
  • Added Hardened Clay, Stained Clay
  • Added Block of Coal
  • Added Name Tags (item)
  • Added Hay Bales
  • Texture packs are now “resource packs” that also can hold sound etc
  • Food meter is now drained when healed by full food meter
  • Removed Herobrine

The 1.6 update does require a new launcher, which you can download here. According to Mojang, the 1.6 update will officially be released on Monday, July 1st.  For the full list of issues that have been fixed since yesterday's snapshot, go here. Otherwise you can download the server files below:
