Minecraft adding new playable female character this week

For the past few years everyone that logged on to Minecraft logged on as the same person, Steve. The only time you weren't the stubbled blue-shirted Steve was when you played on a server with other players. Mojang recognizes that the world isn't only composed of Steves, that's why they are bringing a new player to the game.

Alex is joining the game. She has thinner arms, red hair and a pony tail. Players on all consoles will see Alex arrive for free this Wednesday.

Additionally, PlayStation players will finally the ability to purchase The Simpsons skin pac, which comes with Principal Seymour Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, Dewey Largo and more. The pack will be available Wednesday on the PlayStation Store.

Also on Wednesday, Xbox 360 users  will be graced with all of the achievements that the Xbox One has. That's 30 more achievements (boosting the potential for 1000 more gamerscore). The update will also bring new C418 tracks to the game!
