The massive December update for Minecraft is expected to arrive "soon" on PlayStation platforms, but unfortunately 4J Studios has no other dates to offer. While the update released on Xbox One and Xbox 360 yesterday, PlayStation has been left out in the cold.
Now before we start with the conspiracies — with Microsoft now owning the Minecraft IP — it should first be noted that this is more of a Sony issue. According to 4J Studios, the update has already been submitted to the various Sony branches, but certification testing has not been completed yet.
.@nangelroth Sony Europe, Sony America and Sony Japan have not completed their testing of the update yet.

This usually takes a few days to process and since today is Friday it means any news regarding the status might have to wait until next week.
No news yet on the update for PlayStation platforms. We hope to have news early next week. #MinecraftPS3 #MinecraftPS4 #MinecraftPSVita
