PC Minecraft players are in for a treat when update 1.9 makes its release. Currently, the update has no official release date and is referred to as "Far Future Version – 1.9+" by Mojang, but there are certain features that we can bet on seeing.
A mix of Mojang developers (Ryan Holtz, Jens Bergensten, and Nathan Adams) have been teasing a bit of information on the upcoming patch from their Twitter accounts as they work on the update.
Their teases have confirmed a more simple way for mod/plugin makers to implement new commands and register them, a new cloud rendering system, pressed dirt for paths, and a redone Ender Dragon (among other things). Nathan Adams (also known as Dinnerbone) made the reveal on Twitter today:
People guessed what yesterdays screenshot was, so I'll confirm it here. I am redoing the Ender Dragon's boss fight for Minecraft 1.9

If you have already defeated the Ender Dragon and are scared of your End being reset — don't be:
Already killed The Ender Dragon on your world? Don't worry, I'll let you kill him again in his new form without resetting The End.

The Ender Dragon's rework isn't even the highlight of the patch according to Nathan Adams, we can expect to see a lot more from the update when it gets closer tot he release date.
Don't worry, this isn't all I'm doing for 1.9… not by far… but I'll save the best for later.
