Minecraft has sold 15 million copies on PC, Markus 'Notch' Persson announced today. The indie developer, never one to shy away from boasting about his game's sales, made the announcement via Twitter. He did the same back in February when the game surpassed the 14 million mark.

Considering the number of platforms Minecraft has been expanded to, it's a surprise that the PC version continues to sell as well as it does. Remember, these 15 million copies are in addition to 12 million sold on Xbox 360, one million-plus on PS3, and 21 million on mobile devices. Needless to say, Mojang is doing pretty well for themselves.
And looking ahead, Minecraft's reach will only grow as the game will soon expand to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One.
