Minecraft: Pocket Edition headed to Windows Phone

Minecraft: Pocket Edition is coming to Windows Phones, Minecraft developer Jens Bergensten confirmed today. Although I think many of us expected this when Microsoft acquired Mojang, but it's nice to have some reassurance.

"Yes, Minecraft: Pocket Edition *is* coming to the Windows Phone!" Jens tweeted today. "The port runs already, but there's still much to do before any release."

Microsoft reached an agreement to acquire Mojang and Minecraft for $2.5 billion back in September. Despite now owning the rights to the game, the company maintains that the popular game will remain available on all platforms. In fact, it'll be released for the Vita next week.
