Minecraft: PS Vita Edition handed to Sony for testing

Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition has been handed over to Sony for final certification testing, developer 4J Studios confirmed today.

While that's exciting new for Vita owners, it should be mentioned that there's a chance it could fail certification testing. Should that happen, 4J would have to fix the bugs and resubmit it. It would be just a minor hiccup in the grand scheme of things, but still kind of annoying. If all goes well and Minecraft: PS Vita passes Sony's testing, then we're looking at a release maybe next week or the week after. Whatever the case, we'll be sure to keep you updated.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced it had reached an agreement to acquire Mojang and Minecraft for $2.5 billion, but maintained that the franchise would still be available and supported on all other platforms, including PlayStation, iOS, and Android.
