Minecraft: PS3 Edition launching before PS4 version

Minecraft will not be released on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 at the same time, announced 4J Studios, the developer behind the console port of Mojang's hit PC sandbox-adventure.

4J wrote on Twitter today, "We're hard at work getting Minecraft: PS3 Edition ready for testing just now. The other platforms & TU14 will be later."

Other platforms being the PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One versions. Meanwhile, Title Update 14 for the already-out Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition also has a bit of time yet. 4J went on to explain that no dates have been confirmed yet, but did say Minecraft won't be a PS4 launch title. They later added, "We'll let you know when we have dates for the other platforms."

Do you plan on getting Minecraft for any next-gen systems?
