Minecraft Wii U Edition not happening after all?

Last week Nintendo broadcasted the first Nintendo Direct since Nintendo CEO and President Satoru Iwata's passing in June. Prior to the event something interesting appearing on the Pan European Game Information page (PEGI for short) – a listing for a Wii U version of Minecraft.

PEGI's rating for Minecraft: Wii U Edition suggested that Nintendo would finally be revealing the highly requested game during the planned Nintendo Direct. Unfortunately, the reveal never came and the listing for  Minecraft: Wii U Edition has disappeared from PEGI's website (via Nintendo Life).

We can most certainly remain hopeful that Minecraft will see its release on the Wii U eventually, but in the meantime… Let's talk about what Nintendo did announce during the Nintendo Direct (in case you missed it). Star Foz Zero got a release date, Linkle was revealed for Hyrule Warriors, Final Fantasy VII's Cloud is Headed to Super Smash Bros, classic Pokemon games are heading to the 3DS and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is officially getting remastered.
