Following yesterday's news that Minecraft: PS3 Edition worlds may be able to transfer to the upcoming PS4 (and maybe Vita) versions, Microsoft's Phil Spencer has confirmed that the Xbox versions will support that functionality.
"After months of teaming up with Mojang, we can confirm that [Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition] will save transfer to Xbox One Edition," Spencer announced on Twitter. He added that more news would be coming soon.
This is great news given the fact that over 12 million copies of Minecraft have been sold on Xbox 360, some of whose owners probably own an Xbox One as well. Unfortunately, the Xbox One version — which was announced back at E3 2013 — still doesn't have a firm release date. Last we hear, Mojang's Daniel Kaplan reiterated that "It is coming, eventually!"
