When Microsoft's acquisition of Minecraft developer Mojang was announced, the immediate question — after how it would affect non-Xbox versions (it won't) — was how it would impact YouTubers who publish "Let's Plays" of the game.
The simplest answer: it won't, and that applies to both those who publish videos for fun or for profit.
Xbox head Phil Spencer clarified in a Tweet this afternoon that Microsof thas "no plans" to change any of the current rules in place.
Minecraft YouTubers, you’re a great part of Minecraft’s success and we have no plans to change what you’re doing once we close the deal.

While there are millions of fans who create Minecraft videos for fun, there's also quite a few YouTubers that make a living off of successful Minecraft videos. It's comforting to know that despite big, bad Microsoft buying our beloved indie gem, nothing will change. Well, nothing aside from Microsoft owning one of the industry's largest game.
