Microsoft may not be dropping the price of the Xbox 360, but at least current 360 owners can get their hands on Gears of War 1 & 2 for discounted prices. If you’re like me and haven’t played any of the Gears of War titles, you can now purchase Gears of War 1 & 2 from the Xbox Live Marketplace for £9.99 and £14.99, respectively. In what seems like an attempt to get more gamers on the Gears of War 3 hype bandwagon, this is a pretty good value that will help get you caught up to the Gears 3 storyline, which will actually be the conclusion of the trilogy.
Be careful though. Playing Gears of War 1 or 2 will bar you from the “casual” multiplayer mode offered in Gears of War 3. This exclusive multiplayer mode can only be accessed by people who have never played Gears of War before.
