It's no secret that game director Hidetaka Miyazaki worked on Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 at the same time. In June Miyazaki confirmed that the development for Dark Souls 3 overlapped by a year with Bloodborne, but he did clarify that the Bloodborne team would not be working on the Dark Souls 3 — he would be the only one to make the switch.
Fans of the Dark Souls series were slightly concerned by Miyazaki's efforts in both games, fearing that the quality of Dark Souls 3 would be affected by his split focus. Since Bloodborne's release Miyazaki still hasn't put his full-focus on Dark Souls 3, he is still directing both the Bloodborne DLC and Dark Souls 3. In an interview with Gamespot Miyazaki looked to assuage worries by revealing that this was not the first time he worked on two games at once:
"This isn’t the first time I’ve had to work on two projects at the same time. When I was doing Demon’s Souls, I was also working on Armoured Core: For Answer. Even for the original Dark Souls, I acted as producer and director."
"The bottom line is, I think I can do it. I believe I can do both the Bloodborne DLC and Dark Souls 3."
Knowing that Demon's Souls came from a director working on two projects at once can bring a little confidence to the community. Regardless of having done two projects at once before, Miyazaki refuses to allow a game to release with his name on it that doesn't meet his standard of quality.
"As long as I am listed as game director on the end credits, there’s a certain level of quality the game needs to meet. I can guarantee that the game quality will reach that."
