Earlier this week Sony announced MLB 13 The Show, the latest installment of their Major League Baseball video game franchise, would release on March 5, 2013 for PS3 and Vita.
In the same announcement, they detailed some of the new features of the game, most notably an all-new Playoff Mode. For any baseball fan, October and the playoff hunt is easily the most exciting time of year. Looking to capture some of that excitement, MLB 13 The Show will include an in-stadium atmosphere that "replicates the excitement and tension of October baseball." I can't wait to see what Wrigley Field is like!
Other new features noted include a completely new beginner mode and instructional enhancements that "make The Show the best pick-up and play baseball experience available."
Additionally, MLB 13 The Show will offer an improved Play Now mode for faster and simpler games and a revamped Franchise and Road to the Show modes with "expanded options and new gameplay experiences."
Sony hasn't forgotten about the Vita version either, and they aren't holding out this year. MLB 13 The Show will return to Sony's handheld and feature the same list of upgrades as the PS3 version. Similar to last year, you'll be able to sync your Season, Franchise, and Road to the Show saves between platforms. It has not yet been confirmed if the game will be offered with Sony's recently introduced Cross-Buy promotion which offers the game for free on the Vita if you purchase it for PS3.
