MLB 14: The Show has been out for a few days now on PS3 and Vita, but most baseball fans have been clamoring for footage of the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 version. Today, Sony delivered, releasing a brand new video highlighting the many improvements brought on by the PS4.
While the video shows off a good amount of PS4 gameplay footage, the focus is mostly on how the next-gen system allows Sony San Diego Studios to breathe new life into the stadiums around the league and truly capture each unique stadium game day atmosphere.
"Thanks to the power of the PS4, our stadium art team has brought these cathedrals to life in a way never before seen on any video game console," boasts MLB The Show community manager Ramone Russell. "The added memory and horsepower allows us to create more lifelike structures with the geometry."
Other PS4 improvements include spec maps to capture each stadium's iconic personality and vibe, individual blades of grass, floating point frame buffers, and a much more realistic crowd with up to 1,000 unique character models. Also, for the first time in the history of The Show, the PS4 version will introduce batboys.
