Sony San Diego Studio is targeting native 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second for the PS4 version of MLB 14 The Show, which was officially revealed today.
MLB 14 The Show will feature a new UI built from the ground up for PS4 that has been "optimized for maximum efficiency and responsiveness," Sony said today. With a few more optimizations, the developers are confident they can hit their goal by launch which, for the PS4 version, is some time in May.
As part of the reveal today, Sony shared a slew of screenshots comparing the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game. Sony made particular note of the "revamped lighting engine, meticulously rendered facial hair, and rich stadium detail." This is all in addition to the 50-plus improvements made to the actual gameplay.
Of course, with this generation it's all about frame rate and resolution. And the fact that San Diego Studios is targeting native 1080p with 60fps is reassuring.
