Sony confirmed during PlayStation Experience today that MLB 16 The Show, next year's installment in the annual PlayStation-exclusive baseball franchise, will release for PlayStation 4 on March 29, 2016. That's just a few days before the tentative start date of Major League Baseball's actual 2016 season.
Sony San Diego Studio showed off a brief gameplay trailer featuring pre-beta footage. Despite being an early look at next year's game, MLB 16 looks primed to continue The Show's run as best baseball game on the market.
As you can see from the image below, Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson is this year's cover athlete, following an impressive season in which he hit .297 with 51 home runs, 123 RBIs, and 122 Runs Scored.
MLB 16 The Show is now available for pre-order, but I'd hold off until we at least hear more details. Then again, The Show is usually the only baseball game worth getting.
