NBA 2K13 has prided itself on being the most authentic basketball simulation game on the market. As it just so happens, it's also the only basketball game available as NBA Live 13 was canceled this year. Baseball games found themselves in a similar situation, but with a reversal in roles.
Sony's MLB The Show franchise has, for a while now, been considered the home run game among baseball fans; however, being a Sony exclusive has limited its availability. For the rest of us, we have the MLB 2K series which almost didn't exist this year due to contract issues with Major League Baseball. As it turns out, the issues were resolved and we can now expect MLB 2K13 on March 5, 2013.
Coinciding with this release, 2K Sports announced a new combo pack that will bundle its acclaimed NBA 2K13 game with the upcoming MLB 2K13 game. It will be available on March 5 at North American retailers for $79.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
“Bundling two of the biggest sports franchises again just made sense,” said Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. “In the same way that fans don’t limit themselves to one sport, sports video gamers seek the level of variety and convenience offered in this package. Combining NBA 2K13 and MLB 2K13 will make it easy for fans to discover the latest entries to these popular franchises at an incredible value.”
The combo pack will offer incredible savings considering NBA 2K13 still retails for $59.99 on its own. With the addition of MLB 2K13, you'd be looking at a total of $120. At only $79.99 for the combo pack, you'll be saving roughly $40. Not bad at all.
