There's no hiding these guys in the 9-hole.

Even the developers of the world's greatest baseball game have to work out the kinks in Spring Training. During a live stream to show off the game's graphical improvements, the developers revealed a visual glitch they encountered a while back, which is what you see above. The glitch was discovered early on in development and was a result of relatively normal development procedures.

The head on the left was the product of the new player hair stretching out farther than it was supposed to. The developers said that at times, the hair would end up stretching across the entire field. The player on the right, who is gradually starting to be known as "Lumberface" was less clear in its origins with SIE San Diego saying  a “compute phase was out of sync.”

Suffice it to say; MLB: The Show players shouldn't be concerned about these players popping up as the series has an extensive history of being in pretty good shape on release. It's simply a reflection of the fact that game development is a very messy process, and that things can break down quickly even with the best intentions.

MLB The Show 17 releases next week on PS4 on March 28th, 2017.
