Antraxx has been in development for five years, with its funding coming out of pocket for the game's lead developers Leendert Oomen and Sam Hellawell. Now the game is about 2/3 of the way through its Kickstarter campaign, the last and most vital step to seeing Antraxx get released on time.
The game itself is centered around customization, faction politics, and land acquisition all contained within a variety of game modes as you battle other players for supremacy. Here's an official list of Antraxx's features per its Kickstarter page:
- Massively Multiplayer
- Crisp, high-quality pixel art
- Play in browser or download
- Create your own faction or join another
- Acquire land, and build your own zone
- Player-driven world economy and politics
- Customize and outfit your own giant mech
- Annihilate your opponents or make peace
- Team-based, free-for-all, and co-op game modes
As of right now, Antraxx will hit Early Access as soon as the campaign wraps up, and if you are a backer, you won't have to wait long to play. All backing tiers that reward the player with a copy of the game will get exclusive Early Access to the game as soon as the campaign ends. There are also a number of other perks as well including Kickstarter-exclusive mech skins, 3D printed collector’s models of mech builds from the game, and even a Kong+ subscription (worth $29.99).
If you're interested in checking out an early build of the game, you can try the demo by heading over here, and if you want to back the campaign, head over to Kickstarter here.
