Remember all those rumors about Techland shutting down mods for Dying Light? Well, just in case the explanation wasn't proof enough that Techland isn't against modders, the developer today made a huge announcement that'll surely please the PC Master Race.
"In their excitement, many PC players have already been creating mods that alter and revamp the game. At Techland, we want to see more! As a sandbox game, Dying Light is a perfect material for modding," Techland said.
To that end, the developer is currently working on "free and extensive modding tools" for Dying Light. But they want your help. Techland is inviting all Dying Light players to their official discussion board to share their mod ideas, "no matter how crazy."
"Modders were a massive part of our gaming community since Call of Juarez 2 and Dead Island — and we wish to continue that with Dying Light. This invitation is only the first stage of our cooperation with the gaming community. After the modding tools are released, we plan to actively support the coolest mods created by players," Techland said.
"We want to give creative freedom to the players to help keep Dying Light fresh and interesting even many years after their release."
So here's your chance. If you've got a mod idea you want to see created, head on over to the discussion board and let them know.
