Despite Activision’s best efforts, the long-rumored battle royale mode for the Modern Warfare remake just got a huge leak, detailing almost all aspects of Call of Duty Warzone. The scoop comes via Reddit but if you want to listen instead of reading about Warzone, make sure to watch the video below before Activision ninjas take it down.
Activision’s successful remake of the seminal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is soon getting a battle royale mode. But for whatever reason, the company is still waiting to formally unveil the highly-anticipated game mode, despite various leaks already having hammered the point to everybody’s heads. If leaks are to be believed, it will officially launch tomorrow.
One such large leak has now surfaced via the YouTuber “Chaos” who has most likely uploaded his video about Call of Duty Warzone a tad early. Nonetheless, savvy internet users already re-uploaded the video which we have linked above. So, don’t be surprised if Activision takes it down soon.
The important thing we now know is that the battle royale mode will be called Call of Duty Warzone and will feature a large map that consists itself of CoD multiplayer maps alongside a lot of new places. A smattering of 150 gamers are supposedly going to battle it out in the Warzone either solo, duo or trio. Just as with Black Ops 4, vehicles make a return.
A real highlight of Warzone looks to be when you actually lose. Instead of just losing the match, players can get “captured” and end up in the Gulag. There, other captures fight their way back into the match. It sounds like a real innovative mechanic to the otherwise simple battle royale experience. You can read much more in detail about “Chaos'” insight on Call of Duty Warzone in the Reddit summary here, or you can watch the video linked above.
